Gothic III

I started playing Gothic III last night. My system is struggling with
it.

The gameplay has a few bugs... looks like it is going to be a good time
none the less.

The fist bug that I noticed was that sometime during a fight... it feels
like you are playing a huge jerk in Street Fighter that won't let you
get up to fight...

Other than that.. I am sre I am not experiencing the full glory of this
game due to the steep system requirements.

I will let you know more as I play.

St. Louis, most dangerous city in America

This is sad news. Depressing rather. Who do we blame? Why is it worse
here than other places... like New York...

"Welcome to St. Louis... would you like to be shot or stabbed?" I can
see it now.

I assume this is the city itself and not the actual suburbs... as it
doesn't seem even the slightest bit bad where I live.

Congratulations St. Louis on this monumentous achievement. Dumbasses I
swear.

Hitman: Blood Money crash fix

I recently installed Hitman: Blood Money and I was plagued by crashes...
after patching.. Still crashes...

The fix that I found that worked... was running dxdiag from the run
command line... and turning Sound acceleration down to basic... took
care of the problem.

Good luck!

Google buys YouTube for $1.65bn

Google is buying video-sharing website YouTube for $1.65bn (£883m) in shares after a weekend of speculation that a deal was in the offing.

We saw this coming- but it has actually happened now...

Let's try 8.35Mb/s / 935Kb/s instead

Crap -- I was told that the speeds were guaranteed-- not "proper operating ranges are from 6.35Mb/s to 10Mb/s" - Charter--- when will you get your act together?

1 day I have been a returning customer and already I am thinking of leaving?

I will try calling your helpline again tomorrow-- as apparently I didn't get anywhere with your technical chat- I immediately hit a brick wall after I was told "those are the speeds that you are going to get" and "No there are no tests I can run to try to increase your speed- because you are within 'proper operating ranges'"

Thanks a lot-

10meg down and 1meg up!

This going to be beautiful!

I just can't wait!

Finally some decent speeds hit the midwest.

What speeds do you have in your area?

North Korea and their nuclear test

I really hope that the world doesn't rush headlong into a military solution to this testing.

Read up at the wiki page...

This make me sad.

Guitar Hero

If you haven't tried this craze yet... I suggest that you do. It is
quite a bit of fun!

Guitar Hero 2 is coming out very soon... November 7th I think.
Additionally this is not going to remain a PS2 exclusive... othe
consoles will be getting their shot at this.

I have been getting to play it a bit lately... even Kimmy likes to play
it. I think she is starting to understand why I have so much fun playing
games.

Other than Guitar Hero... Hitman: Bloodmoney is taking up my video
gaming time... good stuff. My iso for my Xbox is trashed so I bought the
PC version new off of Amazon.com. For $22

Some days are harder than others.

If you take a given week... and rate each day in difficulty... why is it
that even if you have the same type of events occur each day all
week.... some days are just..... harder.

Those days that you wake up and sit up in bed and think... "Do I have
to?".

I love my job and I love where I work. Don't get me wrong there, but
this is just something I have noticed.

Just merely an observation.

Now... where is my cookie?

Screw Windows .... again!

I recently.. About 3 months ago switched my main PC to Ubuntu.

I decided to do a fresh install of Windows on my teraserver. So... to
the point....

Windows installed... antivirus solution downloaded... antispam suite
downloaded... Total time that Windows was installed before becoming infected. 13
minutes. Didn't even have a chance to download the security updates and
patches...

Screw you Windows. Screw you!

Night out with the co-workers.

After a rough week, I needed some beer!

Started at Buffalo Wild Wings... then moved on to Helen Fitgerald's to
see the local band 'Joe Dirt'. Had a good time. A little too much fun. ;)

Missed Oktoberfest at Growlers the next day... didn't have a ticket. By
the time broneal found a ticket.... I was stuck doing chores. Bummer.

Yay to beer and yay to co-workers who drink it. Hahaha
